Cotton pieced quilt, look at it one way and it appears to be a pinwheel design, see it another way and it could be bow ties. We couldn't find the pattern in any reference, but suffice it to say that it is a well planned pattern in the tradition of American country quilts, with good looking feedsack prints and a coarse heavy muslin backing.
