Elizabethan Chair
A rare example of an American Elizabethan Revival Side Chair, circa 1850, nearly identical to one in the Museum of the City of New York, see "Centuries and Styles of the American Chair", by Robert Bishop, pg. 347. American furniture design in the 19th century included numerous revival styles. This chair is carved of walnut and has a later finish and upholstery both of which are in excellent condition. Few of these chairs were made and fewer survive; they are similar in date and style to the more plentiful American Gothic Revival examples that were popular in American country houses of the wealthy in the middle of the 19th century. 42" H. X 19" W. (seat front) X 14" W. (seat rear). We accept time payments and quantity discounts. ** WE GUARANTEE THE AUTHENTICITY OF OUR MERCHANDISE AS REPRESENTED. MEMBERS OF: THE ANTIQUES COUNCIL, THE CAPE COD ANTIQUE DEALERS ASSOCIATION (CCADA). **
