Antique "Bobbie" Walking Stick
A Late 19th C. or early 20th C. Rare walking stick known as a " Bobbie" cane in which the top has a whistle which was supposed to be used to signal for help from a London Policeman ( "Bobbie").. The whistle is sounded by blowing through the top of the cane. The sound and the air exit through four small holes just below the the top. The shaft is intricately carved on it entire length to appear as some sort of thorn wood. The ferrule is brass. There are no apparent repairs or damage. 34 3/4" Long, 1 1/2" Diameter at the top.
