Teak Campaign Desk, 19th Century English
Excellent Condition: A light colored solid Teak English Campaign Desk in three parts, mid to late 19th century. The drawer interiors are oak. It has most of its original brass locks, flush brass drawer pulls, brass keyhole escutcheons and original removable feet. The finish is an older one in good condition.. This Desk exemplifies practical portability which was its primary purpose. Used by British military officers ,Sea Captains and wealthy individuals on safari and London flat owners short on space, these desks were produced from the Late 18th Century through the Early part of the 20th Century. They were made in England, India and East Asia for use around the globe. Still practical, these desks are in demand today.
