Neoclassical pot cupboard, circa 1830-1850, mahogany with top of black marble with bold gold veins, originally designed for storage of a chamber pot; now ideal for bedside stand or storage of towels in a bathroom, the design for this piece is directly related to the quintesseatial icon of classical antiquity - a fluted column. Pot cupboards such as this were made in America and Europe, this one may be of either origin, excellent original condition.
