Three drawer chest of drawers with two glove boxes, original paint decoration on pine typical of American cottage furniture of the 1850's which was popularized in "The Architecture Of Country Houses" by A.J. Downing, originally published in 1850. Downing was a well known tastemaker of the day who set out to form the taste of his fellow Americans. In excellent condition, American, circa 1850.
