19th C. Mahogany English Campaign Chest in Two Parts, Original Maker's
Antique English Campaign Chest (circa 1880) in two parts, with all original locks, lift handles, key hole escutcheons, brass binding and removable feet. Solid Mahogany with rich figuring and color, with a clean finish. The secondary wood is Pine. All drawers run smoothly. All joints are tight. The maker's stamp is present (Arthur Foley & Son, 1888, see photos). 43 3/4" Hight, 36" Wide, 19 1/2" Deep. This chest exemplifies practical portability which was its primary purpose. Used by British military officers, wealthy individuals on safari and London flat owners short on space, these chests were produced from the Late 18th Century through the Early part of the 20th Century. They were made in England, India and East Asia for use around the globe. Still practical, these chests are in demand today. See photos, the photographs are part of the description.** WE GUARANTEE THE AUTHENTICITY OF OUR MERCHANDISE AS REPRESENTED ** BX
