Folk Art Walking Stick with an "Opera Handle" carved in the shape of a Cat, with Glass Eyes and paint decoration suggesting a Tiger Cat. Because the surface of the wood is entirely painted, the type of wood used is not obvious, but the cane is fairly light weight suggesting a softer wood. 33 3/4" to the top of the handle, 35" to the top of the cat's ears. A rare set of iron and brass Fireplace Tools, early 20th Century, made by the Howes foundry of Boston Ma. which manufactured fine quality fireplace equipment in the 19th and early part of the 20th century. The set comprises a stand, tongs, poker and shovel each with a cast iron handle with a brass finish that is partially worn. The handle handle is in the form of an owl. A New England Drop Leaf Table, circa 1810-1820 of solid cherry with Chestnut secondary wood and a brass drawer pull on a single drawer. Its origin is most likely Connecticut or Massachusetts. The finish not original, but older and with a warm mellow tone. The structure is sound with no splits or breaks. There is one very small loss at one corner.
